OCTOBER 2023

October 16th, 2023   |  QCCN proudly announced our program was selected to launch a PARENT SUPPORT & WELLNESS initiative for QUEENS families.

With funding from the CEC’s Citywide Participatory Budgeting – THE PEOPLE’S MONEY, QCCN is enhancing parent wellness and stability for commonly marginalized Queens families. QCCN will begin conducting in-person and virtual outreach with parents to assess their needs and link them to effective resources. We will also offer monthly educational events and information sessions, in English and Spanish, addressing high interest parenting topics.

As part of this initiative, QCCN will also develop an online Parent Resource Directory and coordinate a (non-emergency) Parent Help Line to guide Queens parents in need of referrals for childcare, educational, medical, behavioral, mental health, legal, vocational, or social services.

December 8th, 2023  |   QCCN was proud to have one of our affiliated early childhood providers, featured in Queens Community House’s – MEET YOUR NEIGHBOR series:

“I was a teacher in Colombia for many years. When I came to the United States, I knew I wanted to stay committed to giving children the love, care, training, and guidance they deserve. I was excited when I got the opportunity to become a childcare provider with the Queens Childcare Network. This work is important to me because through daily experiences with children, I can touch their lives in a positive way, improving their skills to relate to others, as well as building their empathy and contributing to the development of their intelligence. Connecting with children in this type of environment is helpful for families in Queens because the different activities we do are beneficial to the long-term development of the children.”
