WIC Awareness

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for 여성, 영유아 및 아동(WIC) is a federal nutrition program that provides the following resources for eligible pregnant 그리고 postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five:

🍎 Healthy Foods

📖 Nutrition Education

🍼Breastfeeding Counseling

👩🏻‍⚕️Health Care & Social Service Referrals

Dads, grandparents, foster parents, and anyone raising kids under age five can also apply for support for the children in their care.

In January 2025, Queens Childcare Network (QCCN) was awarded a funding through the WIC Community Innovation and Outreach Project (WIC CIAO).

This initiative has allowed QCCN to create WIC 앰배서더 with specialized training and access to WIC resources.

Our mission is to develop a sustainable network of community leaders to actively promote WIC awareness and enrollment.

QCCN is seeking to strengthen WIC engagement throughout Queens, with a concentration on underserved communities, including immigrant and non-citizen families.

Please note that survey completion is not a commitment of participation; it is only an initial step to express interest in becoming a WIC AMBASSADOR.

A brief follow-up virtual meeting will be scheduled by QCCN to discuss the role of a WIC AMBASSADOR and assess compatibility with the project.

WIC AMBASSADORS help QCCN promote WIC Awareness:

By providing culturally relevant information and outreach.

Reducing misinformation which discourages enrollment.

Increasing trust within immigrant and non-citizen families.

This is a great opportunity to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the lives of at-risk women, infants, and children.

We look forward to hearing from YOU today!
